Rev up your mind around the concept of a car rally. Imagine cars, driver, navigator, stages, time trials, support team, competition, thrills and spills. Now shrink the car rally course so it all takes place onsite at the conference venue. And shrink the cars to radio controlled 1/10 size models. Now you have our latest team building activity - Start your Engines!
This fun event involves being hands on with technological gadgets which appeal to 'big kids', while being a lot safer than a real car rally!
The group are organised into rally crews; each with a radio controlled model car.
Crews review the rally course, which is comprised of a number of stages, each with its own inherent challenges for car, driver, navigator and support crew.
For each stage the roles are changed, and a different crew member must be the driver.
Practice laps, race sessions and time trials can be included, as well as pit stops and wheel changes! Don't forget the critical role of the navigator! Will the car be driven around the correct course, or lost in the maze of possible turns?
The activity can be implemented at almost any venue, is suitable for small to medium groups and provides for competitive between teams. Start your Engines can be 'just for fun' or facilitated as a learning metaphor for team work.
